Trying a New Brownie Recipe

You’ll remember that our favorite brownie recipe wasn’t turning out the way it had in the past, so when I felt like having brownies today I decided to look for a new recipe. This one, by Seriously Eats, promised to be nice and fudgy. The combination of both melted chocolate and cocoa powder seemed like a winner, and it was! Of course, I made a few adjustments; here’s my version.

Fudgy Brownies

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Melt and stir butter, margarine and 1/3 cup chocolate chips together until smooth. Stir in sugars until dissolved, then mix in vanilla and eggs. Add dry ingredients, then remaining cup of chocolate chips. When combined, pour into greased 9×13″ pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

One of the more recent new brownie recipes we’ve tried tasted great, but was too crumbly. It seems the ratio of ingredients in this "fudgy" recipe solves that problem.
