Marbled Pumpkin Pie
Somewhere this year I saw a picture of a chocolate-swirled pumpkin pie and decided it would be a great "new" recipe for our Thanksgiving dessert line up this year. (We also finally tried a version of this Pumpkin Torte.) I didn't follow the recipe that was given, but instead used my own for Traditional Pumpkin Pie. Feel free to use your favorite recipe.
To make the beautiful swirl, pour the pumpkin pie filling into the pie crust, leaving about 2/3 cup batter in the bowl. Melt 1/4 cup regular chocolate chips and stir into the pie filling. Drizzle over the pie, then gently swirl with a knife or thin spatula. Bake as normal.
Doesn't it look gorgeous? And it's a terrific way to make "ordinary" pumpkin pie special.
