Bay Leaves!
Bay leaves are usually used in soups and stews, so that's how we'll start using this new package of herbs. First up was Lentil Stew. We used this recipe, with ham instead of sausage, and adding a bit of spinach at the end.
Next up - an autumn favorite - Curried Pumpkin Soup!
We used one in the seafood stock, and another in the paella for our special Saturday dinner.
And we used a couple in the Picadillo we made shortly afterwards.
Another recipe in the Columbian Cookbook called for bay leaves as well - Cuban Style Red Beans.
They can even be used in dishes that aren't soups or stews! This Crème Brûlée was delicious!
