Strawberry Ice Cream
I imagine almost any similar fruit could be used instead strawberries, either fresh or frozen, but at least for this first time we're sticking with fresh strawberries. Next on the list will be Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream!
Strawberry Ice Cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole strawberries, washed and hulled
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Pulse strawberries in the food processor and set aside. Whisk together sugar, salt and milk, then stir in vanilla and cream along with strawberries and their liquid. Chill mixture for at least one hour, then process in Cuisinart ice cream maker for 15-20 minutes. This will be soft-serve texture; put in freezer for a while if you want it harder.
