Sweet and Spicy Almonds
This is a very simple recipe. Simply toss almonds with a bit of honey and oil and roast for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, toss with a sugar/spice mixture, and let cool. Then enjoy your snacking!
Sweet and Spicy Almonds
- 2 cups whole almonds (raw)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, divided
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more if desired)
Place almonds on a silicone or parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Drizzle with oil and honey, sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Bake at 450 degrees for 3 minutes, then stir to thoroughly coat nuts and spread in a single layer. Cook for another 7 minutes, then stir and bake an additional 5 minutes (15 minutes total).
Remove to another cookie sheet, leaving the residual oil/honey mixture in the first pan. Combine remaining salt with sugar and pepper, sprinkle over the nuts and mix to coat each nut. Cool.
