Chocolate Chip Brownies

I love brownies. Wayne likes to try new recipes. We were both happy today. The technique for this recipe is very similar to an old favorite and they're definitely more fudgy than cake-like (a very good thing), but I think I'd prefer them without the nuts. Would you?


Easy Chocolate Chip Brownies

  • 2 cups chocolate chips, divided
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Melt one cup chocolate chips with the butter. Stir until smooth. Cool a bit, then beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour, sugar and baking powder, then stir in the nuts and remaining chocolate chips. Spread in a greased 9x13" pan and bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Makes 24.
