Dutch Oven Pizza Again
We've made pizza in the Dutch oven before, but it was time to do it again (as the next recipe in our Dutch oven cookbook). The first iteration used a premade crust from the grocery store, topped with Canadian bacon and sausage, with onions, mushrooms and black olives. For the second one we'll try a refrigerated crust, topped with ground round and pepperoni, with onions (cooked first with the hamburger!), mushrooms and black olives. Don't forget the cheese!! While we prefer our homemade dough, this isn't bad, and is quite satisfactory for a quick meal.
A few weeks later we made it again, using ground round and pepperoni with our mushrooms and olives. Instead of buying a premade crust from the grocery store shelf, we got a can of pizza dough from the refrigerated case. That comes as a rectangle, but we made it fit into our round pan anyway. I personally liked this version better, because it wasn't covered with raw onions!
We'll try it one more time, using fry bread as the base!
