Whole Wheat Sour Cream Pancakes
There are many versions of pancake recipes on this blog, but so far none of them combine wheat flour and sour cream. Consequently, I'm adding another one! Here's our scaled-down version of this recipe.
Whole Wheat Sour Cream Pancakes
- 1/3 cup white flour
- 1/3 cup wheat flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup sour cream
Gently combine all ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls (about a scant 1/3 cup each) on a greased griddle. Flip when bubbles appear. Serve warm. Makes 6 pancakes, or 2 servings.
Note: Be sure to use baking powder. These don't taste very good if you use baking soda!
9/12/2025 - For today's version I used 1/4 cup each of flour, wheat flour, milk and sour cream, along with 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Instead of one egg, I beat two egg whites (leftover from making Hollandaise Sauce) to add to the mixture. The end result was quite delicious.
