Cracker Bark

One Christmas we came across a recipe for Graham Cracker Toffee and we actually tried it, but discovered it was just way too sweet! While looking for Valentine treat ideas, I saw something very similar but using saltines instead. And since we had old crackers languishing in the pantry, along with some almond bark, it was worth giving it a try. I didn't use as much toffee and chocolate as the original recipe called for, but it was still plenty enough. I'm not necessarily a fan of almond bark; maybe we'll try this again with "real" chocolate.

Cracker Bark

  • one sleeve saltine crackers
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 squares brown almond bark
  • 3 squares white almond bark
  • 1/3 cup red candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon candy sprinkles
Line a cookie sheet with crackers. Combine butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 2-3 minutes and pour over crackers. Spread gently, then bake at 325 degrees for 5 minutes. Melt the chocolate and spread on top, then drizzle with the candy melts. Draw a toothpick through to marble and sprinkle on the sprinkles. Chill to harden.
