Stone Crab

We had some stone crab claws in the freezer, leftover from making Paella Valenciana, and I thought they would be great to serve for our Valentine's Day dinner. My research suggested that Twice-Baked Potatoes would be a good side dish. However, those were on the menu for the day after, so that's when we ate our delicious crab. And no one complained about having steak for our holiday celebration.

Stone Crabs are super easy. We bought them pre-cooked and frozen. Just thaw and eat! However, following the recommendation from this site, I did make a simple mustard sauce to serve with the crab meat, and that was actually quite delicious. (The leftovers worked well as a sandwich spread later in the week.)

Mustard Dipping Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
Combine and serve.
