Graham Cracker Crust

I've posted the directions to make a graham cracker crust before, but decided this recipe needed its own post, even if it is super simple. Today's version was made for Wayne's birthday cheesecake, and I experimented with doing tarts instead of a full-sized pie. I made three because I wasn't sure if there would be enough crumbs or filling for four; in hindsight, there probably would have been.

Graham Cracker Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 11 full crackers or one small package)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (original recipe called for more)
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine (mostly melted)
Combine ingredients. Press into pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 minutes (which helps melt the sugar and bind the crumbs) or chill for at least 30 minutes. Fill as desired.

To make tart crusts use 3-4 tart pans; bake as directed. The crust will be thicker if using three pans.
